Self-Defense Training for Women in Luverne, Alabama

may11One of a kind Mother’s Day present:

On Saturday, May 11 the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s department offers a free self-defense class for women. Everybody is welcome.

As of now, there are more than 40 people who have already confirmed their coming to the class. There will be more, we are sure. The class is not some generic informational, feel-good-do-nothing-and-here-is-some-donuts gathering. Quite the opposite, it’s going to be quite a hands-on event: there will be 2 FBI instructors and 1 marine sharing some life-saving skills.

Of course they understand they are sharing their knowledge with civilians and women, so do not be afraid of some strenuous physical combat exercises – nothing like that. They will teach you skills that an average person, like you and me, could use in everyday life situation to avoid, to prevent, and to escape dangerous situations.

There will be demonstrations of pepper spray use and other common little self-defense tools that every woman should probably have in her purse or car. Pepper Spray Center donated some pepper sprays for the participants. We surely hope they will never have to use it but we also hope they will always have it.
